The Faculty of Arts and Sciences was founded in 1992 affiliated with Sakarya University. Sakarya University Faculty of Arts and Sciences was closed by the Presidential decision numbered 5868, which was announced in the Official Gazette No. 31904 dated 26 July 2022. Sakarya University Faculty of Sciences and Sakarya University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences were opened to replace the closed faculty.

Our faculty is composed of the five academic departments namely Department of Biology, Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Statistics and Department of Mathematics. Our students, at Departments of Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, continue their education while the Department of Statistics has not started accepting students yet.

Although the language of instruction in our faculty is Turkish, students who wish, can study in English for a year in the English preparatory department of the university. In addition, our students are provided with compulsory English courses and elective Professional English courses within the scope of our curriculum, so they can improve their English background.

Our students, who are given the opportunity to participate in domestic and international education mobility through Erasmus, Farabi and Mevlana exchange programs, can study at other universities for one or two semesters. Interested students can also benefit from abroad education and internship mobility opportunities.

Apart from Statistics, our other departments have been accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of University Programs in Mathematical, Natural and Social Sciences (FEDEK).
