Dear Students,
Sakarya University Faculty of Sciences was established with the Presidential Decision published in the Official Gazette dated 25 July 2022 and numbered 5868.
Our faculty is composed of departments of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. These departments aim at discovering laws of nature and its mechanism via theoretical research, careful observations, and experiments in the field of basic sciences. Knowledges produced by basic sciences lead the improvement of human welfare. As a matter of fact, since the students of the Faculty of Sciences graduate by having comprehensive skills such as problem identification and solving, scientific thinking, and evaluation of cause-effect relationships, they add value to the society in socio-economic and technological terms using their knowledge and experience in the field of study of they choose.
All departments of Sakarya University Faculty of Science have been accredited by FEDEK since 2016. Our faculty has competent and precious academics, who are experienced in education, R&D, and university-industry cooperation. Our academic staff makes significant contributions to the fields of basic sciences and related technology at the national/international level.
Sakarya University attaches great importance to educate its students well-equipped and to give them opportunities of studying on other fields of their interest. In accordance with this purpose, students of our faculty can receive a second diploma within the framework of the Double Major Program (DMP) by studying at the Faculties of Engineering and Health Sciences of our university. Similarly, our students can receive pedagogical formation education. Moreover, within the scope of the 7 + 1 application, our students gain experience in their fields by completing their last semester in the private sector.
Our students, who receive optional English preparatory education in our faculty, can continue their education by taking the basic courses in English. For the study abroad experience, on the one hand, education can be taken at a great number of universities within the scope of Erasmus, Mevlana and Farabi exchange programs. On the other hands, many of the graduate programs in which academic members of our faculty take part, offer our students the opportunity to master and doctorate in English.
